Story about olive
The story we want to tell you does not begin with ...once upon a time, there was a kingdom... it is a story that in it's beginning has a lot of effort, work and sweat, and is based on the enthusiasm, will and strength of a then young man.
The action takes place on a part of the globe that we can honestly say belongs to heaven on Earth - on the island of Rab! Thanks to my grandfather Josip, a farmer from Rab who started planting an olive tree on part of his property, and one day I cleared a part of his forest and began my life story about the olive tree that is now a part of me and my family. I want to tell you as much as possible about that effort, about that golden-green preciousness, taking you on a walk through my olive grove. On my part, everything started in 2002 when I started clearing the forest and planting a new olive grove with my friends and family. Since the climate had already started to change, I decided on new varieties of olives in order to have a harvest every year. I planted, fought with pests, drought, rain, borer and others, trying to treat nature with nature, looking for miracles so that the olive tree could remain on it's own. Almost every year a new battle with a new enemy. I studied a lot, observed, analyzed and after 18 years I decided to show my efforts and knowledge to others.
All my varieties of olives, 48 of them, Orkula, Lastovka, Levantinka Drobnica, ... are combined in Valanga oil, which I proudly present in my tasting room "Tri volta". Pleasant taste of mild bitterness, oil produced without a trace of chemistry, dark green in color!
And here we are ... at the end of the story... "they fell in love with oil and it became a part of their everyday life and they often returned to the olive grove to relax by walking around the streets between Oblica, Lastovka, Levantinka, Drobnica..."
